Before you press a single button, there are a few app-specific security features and ecosystem quirks you need to know about:

Tip: Your core text data, settings, and layout will download in about 10 minutes, allowing you to use the new phone right away. Massive files like photos and heavy applications will silently continue downloading in the background whenever you are connected to Wi-Fi.
3. The Physical Route: Using a Computer (Finder / Apple Devices App)
If you have an incredibly large local media library (like 4K videos or heavy music files) or a sluggish Wi-Fi network, a wired backup via computer offers maximum stability and blistering speed.
How it works: Plug your old iPhone into your computer. Open Finder (on macOS) or the Apple Devices / iTunes app (on Windows).Select your device and click Back Up Now . Once finished, plug in the new iPhone and choose Restore Backup during the initial setup phase.
